We Have Merch!

Inspired my friend Paul’s recent work  and frustrated with my inability to find food and boozy related products I actually want to wear and carry, I took a plunge and set up my own TeePublic store this weekend! Right now it’s just text designs – a few sayings and versions of my wordmark, but I’m pretty happy with it. You can get each design on a variety of items – from regular t-shirts and really comfortable racer back tanks, to even tote bags, notebooks, mugs, and stickers. I’ve found playing with font designs to be a lot of fun, so expect more from me as time goes on. If you’d like to support the blog and get a cool product in return, consider checking out the store!

A few of my favorite items:

Eventually I’d love to create a real logo for the site and work on some serious designs, but until then, I think this satisfies my artistic itch.

Liquid Alchemy’s Two-Year Anniversary

Ask me about about local Delaware makers, and there is one husband and wife duo I always name first – Jeff and Terri, founders of Liquid Alchemy Beverages. Specializing in craft meads and ciders – made on site with locally sourced ingredients – Liquid Alchemy not only makes great products, but promotes a wonderful community atmosphere. They collaborate with other local businesses, support events throughout the region, and throw parties for every occasion imaginable.

The company celebrated its two-year anniversary this weekend, and I couldn’t be more happy for them. For the occasion, Liquid Alchemy released an incredible, limited edition barrel-aged mead. For the past year, they’ve aged their Black 302 (mead made with local blackberries) in a whiskey barrel from Painted Stave Distillery  Needless to say, I enjoyed three glasses and we brought home three bottles of the scant 50 they had for sale!

A few local vendors came out to celebrate as well. I had the pleasure of enjoying a delicious, perfectly cooked pepperoni and sausage pizza from Pizza Nocciano, straight out of their mobile brick oven, followed by a luscious chocolate-coffee cupcake from Sweet Magnolia Bakery, made with Liquid Alchemy’s Ground and Tapped coffee mead. I probably should have taken more pictures, but I was enjoying myself way too much to spare a second.
