A Thymeline Special Edition featuring tutorials and recipes for one of my favorite foods: Eggs!
***
I love egg recipes normally, but springtime and the Easter holiday really bring eggs and all their variatians to the forefront. Whether it’s dying or decorating, finding ways to use up your cartons of hard boiled eggs, or just new (or perfected) techniques to cook them, there is so much you can say about these little perfect shells full of protein. Rather than try to top the words of experts more knowledgeable than me on the subject, here are the best links I could find from across the web about Eggs!
- I’m loving these techniques for naturally dyed Easter Eggs.
- Ever wonder how to crack an egg with one hand?
- How about how to make the Jammiest Egg Ever?
- Curious how food bloggers can get such pretty eggs for their photos?
- These Rice Crispy Easter “Eggs” are super cute!
- I’ve had Melissa Clark on the brain as I work through her new cookbook Dinner, so I have no qualms sharing her thoughts on shakshuka from this 2013 article.
- When I want a poached egg but I’m too lazy to use the whirlpool method, these Poaching Pods are an awesome alternative!
- Not one, but THREE egg-related cookbooks coming out this spring:
- All About Eggs (As Food52 reports, Lucky Peach always understands the latest food trends)
- Egg Shop: The Cookbook (From the popular NYC brunch and cocktails spot)
- Joy The Baker Over Easy (A brunch cookbook from one of my favorite bloggers!)
- Finally, some special egg-centric recipes for your review:
- First off – make a cocktail with egg whites! Maybe this Ginger Amaretto Sour or Blueberry Gin Sour suit you.
- This Bacon and Brussels Carbonara is perfectly in-season right now.
- Bacon and Egg Shengjian Bao (Pan-Fried Steamed Buns) sound delicious.
- Baked Eggs with Spinach and Mushrooms are a perfect large-batch bunch option.
- Bacon Cheddar Grilled Cheese Hole-In-Ones combine two of mine favorite foods into one!
- Would you like Mac & Cheese Scotch Eggs, perhaps?
