Thymeline 08 | Feast In Thyme

Another week, another Thymeline! A short one this week with talk about writer’s block, Sausage-Stuffed Honey Buns, and new cookbooks to love.

***

I’m going to be completely honest with you, dear readers: I’m having trouble motivating myself to write this past week. I’ve been really focused on developing my social media strategy and scheduling my meal plans and posts for next month, but buckling down and actually putting words to paper has been more difficult than usual. I’m hoping I can push past it soon (I have a number of projects I’d like to get done!), but until then, I’ll keep this short and sweet.

Last week I made my final recipe from Vivian Howard’s Deep Run Roots (at least as part of the Food52 Cookbook Club!). I can’t wait to return to it again when summer produce starts showing up. The Sausage-Stuffed Honey Buns pictured above were a serious project, taking 4 hours in total from start to finish. The scent of the honey and spices that filled my apartment may have been worth the time alone though. The end result was really good, and while I’m not sure I’d do the exact recipe again, I’ll definitely be playing around with these flavor combinations in the future. Expect a full report on Deep Run Roots and everything I’ve cooked from it this month very soon!

With March coming to an end, over the next few weeks I’ll be experimenting with two different cookbooks – Dinner: Changing the Game by Melissa Clark, and one of my favorites from last year, Simple by Diana Henry. The latter is the Food52 Cookbook Club choice for April. As you can see, Midna likes to help with my recipe planning:

Cheers!
