A comfort food like no other, this recipe for Shepherd’s Pie with Guinness, Bacon, & Beef Filling is topped with creamy Sage & Brown Butter Mashed Potatoes. Perfect for the remaining chilly nights as winter turns into spring! St. Patrick’s Day is the end of this week, and with it my internet feeds are full of shamrocks, Lucky Charm-based desserts, and of course, shepherd’s pie. I know it’s cliché, but I had to share this version of the dish as my contribution to the holiday hype. This recipe came together much more quickly than most of my posts, with just […]
This post is late. I know. I’d hoped to have this up by Mardi Gras, but I fell a little behind in my ambitious scheduling. Please accept my humble apology in the form of this recipe for Bourbon Glazed Cajun Shrimp with Bacon and Cheddar Grits.
Hot wings are a fan-favorite at any gameday party. I think it’s become tradition for many to have some variety of these flavors at any given sports event, so I had to include my favorite version in my Super Bowl recipe series this year. These Giant Baked Hot Wings with Homemade Blue Cheese Dressing will be a crowd-pleasing snack at any event, and they are simple and hassle-free to make. You don’t have to point it out – I know these “wings” are actually giant drumsticks, and there isn’t an actual wing to be found. I can’t say I’m sorry about […]
This burger recipe is several years in the making. It combines some of my all-time favorite things – sweet and savory, pineapples and jalapenos, and of course, gooey cheese. I should begin by saying that I have a very special relationship with a good hamburger. If you were to ask me on the spot what my favorite dinner food is, I’d probably say either duck or short ribs. If I really think about it though, I’m not sure that’s accurate. As delicious as those are, they’ve yet to inspire in me the same deep-seated, irresistible desire that I get for […]
I’m incredibly excited about today’s recipe. I spent a lot of time perfecting this one over the last couple of weeks. I tried various versions using different kinds of squash. I experimented with the cheese and pasta ratios. I even tried out different roasting methods. The end result is gooey and comforting like a decadent mac and cheese, but with the health bonuses of my favorite winter squash. Plus, there is bacon. Needless to say, I really love this recipe for Roasted Pumpkin Baked Pasta, and I hope you do too.
The second week of November has come up on us quickly, and it would be an understatement to say it’s merely been eventful. This time of year is one that craves comfort foods under normal circumstances. On top of an already busy and stressful time, I’ve been feeling under the weather this week and I need them now more than ever – maybe you feel the same. In that case, it seems all the more reason to share something hearty and beautiful that you can make and share with the people you care about: the first entree to appear on this site […]
